It's not just about the dog itself, but the relationship you have with it!

Dedicated to Bart, who had the Most Beautiful Tail

"It's very simple. Dogs and cats and other talented animals have tails; their tails, with their thousands of flourishes, provide them with a wonderfully complex language of arabesques, not only for what they think and feel and suffer, but for every mood and vibration in their feeling tone. We have no tails, and since the more lively among us need some form of expression, we make ourselves paintbrushes and pianos and violins..."

Denali got a Puppy for Christmas!

When we told Denali she was getting a puppy for Christmas, she was skeptical. Now that Sage has been her awhile she's figured out that he's a lot of fun to play with.  (There is something familiar about him....?)

She's also figured out that he's pretty smart, so she's started the faux Kill the Beast lessons. It is really quite fascinating to see her demonstrate the moves and allow Sage to practice on a willing "victim."

Sage is an enthusiastic participant...Okay, so he's a puppy!

He's getting better at it every day - and they practice a lot!

Denali demonstrates another important lesson: Drama Queen! (Primal Scream?)

Sage catches on quickly: Double Primal Scream!

Yup, Phoenix likes her Christmas present, too--an interactive chew toy!

They are growing like weeds!
