This annual event in Palo Alto, CA started 14 years ago. I went to the first one, and have been many times in subsequent years. Each year there are more pumpkins and it becomes more amazing! This year I heard someone say that there were over 10,000 pumpkins!
In the early years, if you didn't get there right as the event started, you missed out on the best deals. Now, there are SO many more offerings, that it wasn't an issue. The popularity of this has spawned similar events in the area, but this one is by far the best! Simply amazing! Each year the work gets better as more glass artists contribute and hone their skills. Below is a small sampling of what there was to see.

They are wonderful -- I love the purple one!
They're gorgeous. They remind me a bit of Dale Chihuly's work.
Beautiful!! I love glass art

Yes, definitely some Chihuly-esque work in the mix. The quality of the work was the best ever this year.
And the purple one WAS absolutely gorgeous! I bought a big purple pumpkin the very first year. Just couldn't justify the $$ for a second. As it was, I did get some great Xmas gifts!
Thank you for such a kind blog about the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch. We appreciate it! In fact... if you contact us at studio@bagi.org we'll send you one of the official patch shirts for free. Many thanks! Chris
